US Tech Solutions Instrumentation Engineer in Milton, Delaware

Job Description:

As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining instrumentation systems that monitor and control various processes in industrial settings. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting instrumentation issues, and ensuring the optimal performance of measurement and control devices. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of industrial processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Instrumentation System Design: - Develop detailed designs for instrumentation systems based on project requirements and industry standards.- Specify and select appropriate sensors, transmitters, controllers, and other instrumentation components.

  2. Installation and Calibration: - Oversee the installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems.- Calibrate and configure sensors and control devices to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.

  3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: - Conduct routine maintenance of instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance.- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with sensors, transmitters, and control systems to minimize downtime.

  4. Collaboration with Engineering Teams: - Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and process engineering teams to integrate instrumentation systems into overall industrial processes.- Participate in design reviews and provide input on instrumentation requirements.

  5. Documentation: - Maintain accurate documentation of instrumentation designs, specifications, and calibration procedures.- Update and create documentation as needed for system modifications or upgrades.

  6. Compliance and Standards: - Ensure that instrumentation systems comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.- Stay informed about advancements in instrumentation technology and incorporate best practices into designs.

  7. Continuous Improvement: - Identify opportunities for improving the reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of instrumentation systems.- Implement changes and upgrades to enhance overall system performance.

  8. Training and Support: - Provide training to operations and maintenance teams on the proper use and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems.- Offer technical support during system upgrades or modifications.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in designing and maintaining instrumentation systems in an industrial setting.

  • Proficiency in using software tools for instrumentation design and analysis.

  • Knowledge of various sensors, transmitters, controllers, and data acquisition systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Skills:

  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS).

  • Familiarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS).

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to instrumentation systems.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
