Interventional - The Interventional business unit at Teleflex offers innovative medical devices that are used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. We place a strategic emphasis on complex coronary and peripheral interventions, vascular access, bone access, specialty biologic treatments and cardiac assist. Our current Interventional products include a broad range of clinically relevant solutions, such as our GuideLiner® and Turnpike® Catheters, AC3 Optimus™ Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and OnControl® Powered Bone Access System. Join a dynamic, growing team that offers healthcare providers an array of medical technology solutions that make a difference in patients' lives. *Position Summary* • Manage sustaining engineering activities for existing Interventional BU products (continuation engineering) across all geographic locations. • Develop and manage operational and personnel budgets for Sustaining and Remediation activities. • Manage and execute product integration and transfer between Business Units and/or resulting from Merger and Acquisition activities. *Principal Responsibilities* • Manage R&D aspects of engineering activities for existing products (continuation engineering) and product transfers including initiatives from Marketing, Operations, Regulatory and Quality. • Compile and provide budget inputs to yearly AOP process. Support budget annually to meet business objectives. • Understand, work within and lead through complexities of multiples locations and quality systems to ensure product integrity and execute the strategic direction of the business • Assist business development with input to strategic plans regarding M&A, partnerships, and distributed product. Oversee and direct operating procedures to control distributed and acquired product activities. • Oversee a team of engineers to execute various Sustaining initiatives. • Make fact based and data driven decisions on both technology and design controls. • Lead complex sustaining projects from concept to completion. • Build a robust sustaining engineering function through hiring and development of engineers. to preserve design intent and performance (research, plan, evaluate/test and draw conclusions/recommendations). Typical sources of design evaluations are improved product safety, quality, and/or regulatory compliance. Manage projects to reduce cost through material/design changes. • Guide Sustaining Engineering team to manage projects through end of life/obsolescence. *Education / Experience Requirements* • BA/BS in Engineering or physical sciences required. • Advanced degree in Business, Management or Engineering preferred. • Seven years of relevant experience required. *Specialized Skills / Other Requirements* • Knowledge of clinical applications and associated product requirements with the ability to translate these requirements into detailed specifications. • Familiarity with materials, processes and equipment common to disposable medical devic s (e.g. PTCA catheters). • Experience and knowledge in test method development and metrology. • Demonstrated skill in project and personnel management. • Ability to navigate different quality systems, industry guidance standards, and medical device regulations. #LI-DR1 Teleflex, Inc. is an affirmative action & equal opportunity employer.
