Robert Half Budget Analyst in Denver, Colorado

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Budget Analyst to join our team in Denver, Colorado. The role is primarily focused on assisting in the preparation and review of annual operating budgets, monthly forecasts, and monthly variance analysis. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring accuracy in accounting data, preparing and posting journal entries, and maintaining knowledge of developments in the grant/contract administration and finance areas.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the preparation and review of annual operating budgets and monthly forecasts

• Conduct periodic budget reviews to identify risks and develop proactive solutions

• Perform budgeting and forecasting of expenditures and revenues to ensure sufficient cash flow and reserves

• Prepare and post journal entries, including reclassification, monthly recurring, and other journal entries

• Examine accounting data for accuracy, appropriateness, and documentation

• Maintain and expand knowledge of developments in the grant/contract administration and finance areas

• Incorporate new developments and governmental requirements in agency planning and operations

• Utilize advanced Excel modeling skills for financial analysis and reporting

• Implement principles and practices of advanced not-for-profit accounting

• Comply with laws, rules, and regulations for not-for-profit financial record keeping and reporting, especially regarding grant and other donor requirements. Requirements

• Solid understanding and experience with budget processes, including preparation, revision, and implementation

• Ability to prepare accurate monthly forecasts and adjust them as necessary

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate budgetary data and make informed decisions

• Familiarity with financial software and systems for efficient budget tracking and reporting

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

• Proven experience as a Budget Analyst or similar role in financial planning is preferred
