Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, EV Charging & Infrastructure Products in Bellevue, Washington

Amazon is building the largest EV fleet and charging network in the world as part of our Climate Pledge. The Sr. Technical Program Manager will oversee key drivers of our reliability KPIs, including charging hardware qualification and components of charger performance management. You'll be joining a fast-paced team building from zero-to-one. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly customer-obsessed, excited to manage hardware products with software integrations, and mechanism/process-focused.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage charger qualification for both L2 AC and L3 DC chargers, including selection of third party labs responsible for reliability testing

  • Create and implement test case tracking mechanisms across makes/models of chargers and firmware versions & mechanisms to communicate/summarize test results to relevant stakeholders

  • Develop and oversee hardware and software performance management mechanisms including bug/hardware issue tracking and prioritization, and firmware version control

  • Manage vehicle-to-charger interoperability testing

A day in the life

You'll start off the morning by reviewing progress on qualification and other testing, and ensuring our engineering team is prioritizing their time according to the most pressing testing needs. You'll write a goal update on our director-level qualification goal.

You'll then review incoming tickets from field issues ahead of a weekly standup with our in-life services team to prioritize pressing issues for our hardware vendors to fix, and provide updates to the field teams on fix timelines.

In the afternoon, you'll work on a document describing patterns you're seeing in field issues and recommending changes to our product requirements based on common field problems.

About the team

The EV Charging Infrastructure and Products team is responsible for accelerating Amazon's Last Mile electrification and facilitating the successful transition of our delivery fleet to achieve net zero-emissions in support of The Climate Pledge. We define EV charging and infrastructure product needs, develop or source solutions to meet those needs, and manage the performance of our EV charging assets post-installation. We are relentless evangelists for our products and technology solutions, and the positive impact they will have on our internal and external customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
