State of Massachusetts Vocational Instructor (A/B) in Baldwinville, Massachusetts

Templeton Community Based Day Program provides direct support to individuals through participation in all planned activities. The Vocational Instructor A/B assists in the planning of daily, weekly and monthly activities, also participating in local community events. Implements all training Social emotional, nutritional, ambulatory, and ISP related objectives for all individuals. This position requires a knowledge of documentation systems including data collection and objective formulation. Performs duties as directed by the Rehabilitation counselors and Habilitation Counselor. Will assist in covering employment services program when asked by the supervisor to provide consistent and employment opportunities during staff leave. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with team members, service providers, family members, and employers to provide direction to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Potential candidates must have the ability to compile required data, produce daily written documentation and monthly progress notes, as well as document attendance and incident reports. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: At least one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience working with individuals with mental retardation, developmental disabilities, mental illness, and/or blindness; in vocational or industrial training; or in vocational or industrial instruction. SUBSTITUTIONS: - An Associate's or higher degree in industrial arts or vocational education may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience. - One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. LICENSES: Based on assignment, travel may be required.
